Correct way to install new versions of software
Hello,
I would like to know the correct way to install new versions of software. For example if we would like to update our firefox to a new version, what would be the correct way to do this?
How does the "replaced by" functionality work in the application tab? We tried this by creating a newer version package of a software and added that to the older version but it does not do anything.

When you replace a application you tell the system what should happen when the old application is reinstalled and that the old application now longer is used for distribution. To make the application change on your clients you have to trigger a reinstall either thru the application list or by using the task "handle replaced applications". We recommend using the task "handle replaced applications" and many organizations has the task scheduled with a offset on a regular basis.
