upKeeper Manager consists of a number of components that interacts with each other (see picture below). All server components can run on a singel server but for performance and redundancy we recommend to use at least two or more server resources. On the client there are three different components install: SOS (Service Operating System), upKeeper Service and upKeeper Tray. upKeeper Service and upKeeper Tray are normally referred to as upKeeper Client, because they are installed together.
All communication between the different components can be configured to suit different situations, except for the communication marked with TCP (SMB) which relies on SMB protocol.
