The new version, upKeeper 4.6 includes new functions, performance enhancements and bugfixes. The most important functions and bugfixes is listed below, for a complete list please read our release notes.

New features

These are some of the new features.

Microsoft Intune integration

Now you can have computer clients synchronized between upKeeper and Microsoft Intune. This means you can deploy a new computer using Microsoft Autopilot and when the operating system is finished upKeeper takes over and installs and maintains all the applications in a rapid and controlled way. If you want to reset your client computer to factory it can be done in upKeeper.

Existing computers can also be added to Intune from upKeeper in a simple and controlled way.

Install application as a user

In this version you can install an application as a user which is handy when it comes to applications like Spotify and Microsoft Teams. Applications with “Install in user context” enabled is appointed to client computers but installs when a user is logged in to the client computer. Every user logging in to the selected computers will get the application.

Computer warranty information

After you set up the unique information needed to collect information from the manufacturer the system starts to go through your computers. Computers with registered serial numbers will collect warranty information including extensions and the information will be presented under the advanced tab.

Handling Microsoft Bitlocker

When restarting a client computer, the system will check for Microsoft Bitlocker. If Microsoft Bitlocker is enabled, it will temporary be disabled and the computer can be restarted without entering any key. If the client computer is set to “Reinstall from scratch” the recovery key will be backed up and restored after the reinstallation.

Application status more visual

When scrolling through an application list it has become more visual added colour code symbols now added to the web interface. If all is green everything is okay and if you find something red you should act.

Bug fixes

These are the major bug fixes in version 4.6.

Third-party dependencies are old

We have gone through all third-party dependencies and updated to de latest staple version. We have also enabled so that every build should look for updated versions.

Shortcuts are not created during installation

We have updated the MSI build of the client and made sure that creating of shortcuts to My upKeeper is created if chosen.

Long update interval for device list

We have added some database and data layer updates so that listing of devices performs better in medium and large environments.  

Cancel copy computer redirects to device list

Function is updated so that when you cancel a copy computer dialog you get back to the view of the source computer.
