The new version, upKeeper 4.8 includes new functions, performance enhancements and bugfixes. The most important functions and bugfixes are listed below. For a complete list please read our detailed release notes which can be found at the ftp site.
New features
These are some of the new features.
White labelling
Now you can white label all the visual components in upKeeper. This will make packing of upKeeper to your customers and/or end clients more recognisable as your brand.
Company administrator
To let external users like end customers or another reseller manage their own organisations and users we added the company entity. This means that you can add a company and configure which organisations should be included initially and which users should be administrators in that company. Administrator for the company can then add and manage both organisations and users.
SOS self-registration
To make onboarding easier when it comes to new hardware, we have added support to join computers in a controlled way directly from the SOS (Service Operating System). Computers will be named by their serial number or sequence number depending on configuration. Hardware will be detected during registration process and proper hardware profile with the correct driver will be added to the computer. When it comes to operating system or platform, which it is called in upKeeper, and groups upKeeper will assign platform and groups set to default.
Autopilot tuning
If you wish to have your client computers registered in Autopilot/Intune and use the fast-installing feature of upKeeper we have combined them in the version. You add Intune Profile information to the preferred upKeeper platform and can make changes to that profile in all levels down to each computer.
OneDrive as distribution point
To be able to use existing cloud file shares we added the possibility to use Microsoft OneDrive. After you have configured the connection between upKeeper and Azure (described in the installation documentation) you can add OneDrive as a file share.
List used components
In this version you get an overview over which components you are using, where they are installed, and which version is installed. This is helpful when upgrading or troubleshooting.
